Veterinary Shadow Program Overview

Our Shadow Program is designed for current students who are interested in learning more about veterinary medicine in a general practice setting. This program offers the opportunity to:

• Learn about basic pet husbandry.
• Understand the importance of vaccinations, heartworm prevention, and flea/tick control.
• Observe various procedures and treatments.
• Gain insight into the roles of veterinarians and veterinary technicians.

Important Guidelines:

• Observation Only: Students are permitted to observe but will not handle animals or operate equipment.
• Shift Duration: Shifts are typically 3-4 hours long.
• Age Requirement: Students must be at least 13 years old to participate.
